Monthly Roundup - January

January Roundup: Fresh Starts and Inspiration for the New Year

January is a time for new beginnings, fresh perspectives, and setting the tone for the year ahead. As the holiday decor is packed away and routines settle back into place, it’s the perfect moment to reflect, refresh, and realign. Here’s what we’ve been loving, learning, and focusing on this month at Lawless Design and The Lawless Design Shoppe.

Design Highlights

  1. Winter Wellness at Home Creating spaces that nurture well-being is at the heart of what we do, and January’s chilly weather is a reminder of the importance of cozy, restorative spaces. We’ve been focusing on:

    • Layered Textures: Think wool throws, linen bedding, and soft rugs underfoot.

    • Natural Light: Maximizing daylight hours and incorporating warm, ambient lighting for the evenings.

    • Non-Toxic Materials: Choosing furniture and decor that’s as healthy as it is beautiful.

  2. Project Updates

    • Project French Chateau: We’ve been hard at work on this stunning project, blending timeless elegance with modern functionality. The goal? A home that feels like a sanctuary while honoring its architectural roots. Check out the project reveal here.

    • Seattle: We are working on an exciting new Distance Design project! Stay tuned for updates.

    • CT Farm: Framing is done and the roof is on. Check out our stories for more.

Wellness Practices We’re Loving

This month, we’ve been focusing on wellness practices that ground and energize:

  • Morning Sunlight Exposure: Starting the day with natural light to regulate circadian rhythms.

  • Decluttering: A clear space truly leads to a clear mind. January is the perfect time for a refresh.

  • Winter Walks: Bundling up and stepping outside, even on the coldest days, has been a wonderful way to stay connected to nature.

Our Monthly Favorites

  • Stanley 40 oz water bottle - Raphaela gifted me this for Christmas and it's hands down the best water bottle. The closed straw is a game changer for travel!

  • Reformation chocolate suede boots - The perfect pair of boots for winter

  • Sezane 70's shirt and pants - I love this matching set so much

  • Needlepoint artwork - How darling is the Czech vintage art?

  • Osea salts of the earth scrub - One of my favorite body products. Pair with the dry brush before showering for super soft skin

  • Cocokind ceramide serum - One of my favorite serums.

  • Minot candle - The summit candle is the perfect woodsy scent

  • Sezane purse - So many colors and all so cute

Inspiration for the Year Ahead

As we plan for the year, we’re inspired by:

  • Sustainability Goals: Continuing to prioritize eco-conscious materials and practices in all our projects.

  • Community Connections: Exploring ways to collaborate with local artisans and businesses.

  • Creative Growth: Pushing boundaries in design while staying true to our core values of wellness and timeless beauty.

Looking Ahead

January has been a wonderful start to the year, and we’re excited about what’s to come. Whether it’s completing transformative design projects, curating more one-of-a-kind vintage finds, or diving into conversations about wellness and sustainability, we’re here to make 2025 a year of meaningful design and intentional living.
