6 Reasons Why You Need Plants in Your Home
Happy Sunday!
You guys all know that health and wellness is something that I am passionate about, and I strongly believe that it can be incorporated into interior design. There's something missing in our homes, though - Something that can be so easily added to enhance our daily lives and that is plants! Plants have so many other benefits other than just looking nice. Down below, I'll run through some of my top reasons for adding in plants to our homes. It is my hope that with this information that you will run out to your nearest plant shop, buy as many plants as your Honda Pilot can fit, and fill your home with fresh botanicals in every room. (Well maybe not to that extent!)
1. Indoor Air Quality
Plants are natural air purifiers that have the ability to clean out toxic chemicals from the air. Since plants release moisture vapor, they also increase the air's humidity. (So you'll never have to worry about a dry home in the winter anymore!)
2. Boosts Mood
There have been numerous studies that have found that patients whose rooms face gardens have healed more quickly than those facing a wall. Plants contribute to a feeling of wellbeing, which in turn make you feel more optimistic.
3. Lowers Risk of Illness
Plants can help lower blood pressure, heart rate, stop headaches and prevent allergies. Additionally, because plants help indoor air quality, they also decrease chance of a stock, heart disease, respiratory infections, cancer, and COPD. Other things like fatigue, pain, couching, runny nose, itchy eyes, and dry throat are reduced.
4. Help You Think
Plants actually help you to be more focused and productive. With that, creativity and memory have also been found to increase.
5. Decrease Stress
Don't ask me, but study's have found that having plants in offices actually facilitates lowering blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory problems.
6. Promote Better Sleeping
As if decreasing stress wasn't enough, plants can even help you sleep better. Plants like Jasmine, Lavender, and Aloe give off a subtle soothing effect to your body and mind. Because of this, it can lower blood pressure, heart rate, and stress, which helps you relax and fall asleep.
