My Go to Paint Colors - Updated
Hi guys!
Okay, so last year I had given you a list of some of my favorite colors. And, well, over the year, I have still used some of those, but I have definitely updated and mixed in new ones!
I thought I would share with you all some of the new paint colors that I've been using! While neutrals have and always will be my staple go too, its fun to mix in other blue and greens, especially for kitchen cabinets.
So, I'm sure I'm going to shock the world, and might even regret saying this, but I'm sick of grey walls. I mean, yes, I know they go with everything, but it just seems like the time has come and gone, and I for one, am okay with it. And I'm not saying that if you have grey walls that they look terrible and you need to paint them, I just am more into really light walls or really dark walls.
I think that contrast is so important when deciding on paint colors. It might be a contrast in texture, or a contrast in color. You may have all really light finishes in a space, but if there is leather, and wood and other fabrics, it totally works.
We just painted our master bedroom Snowbound, which is a color I've been using so frequently this year (check out the Milton Reno for images). What I love about the color is that its a white, without being to stark and cool. The ceiling and trim are ceiling bright white, to give a little bit of contrast. Then, I restored and painted our dresser with the iron ore. With all the walls being white and our comforter, the room is really light and airy. But, then I mixed it with some darker contrast pieces like the dresser. I absolutely love how this turned out!
