HOW TO KEEP WHITE FURNITURE WHITE
Ever have trouble keeping your white sheets, well, white? Have no fear, I'm giving you my best tips on how to keep all your white bedding, upholstery, and furniture white for years to come!
WHITE BEDDING
VIA EDBDESIGNS
Wash your face before going to bed
I'm a big stickler for washing my face before bed. No one wants last nights mascara and foundation on your pillowcase the next morning!
Don't use bleach
What?? Yup. Bleach combined with sweat can actually turn your sheets yellow. Instead, wash you bedding before one time, and then rewash your bedding with bleach afterwards. You're welcome.
Wash Separately
You might be tempted to throw in some of your white towels to fill the laundry, but stay away from mixing these together in the wash. The different textures will cause your sheets to pill.
WHITE UPHOLSTERY
Spot clean
I mean, of course. Everyone knows to spot clean. I've found that those tide to go pens are my best friend
Stain Guard
If you love red wine as much as I do, or have kids for those matters, you'll want to do the same. It will cost you a good amount of money upfront, but it will surely save you the cost of buying new furniture once you get a spill on your pretty new sofa.
WHITE WOOD FURNITURE
VIA LAWLESS DESIGN
Keep out of direct sunlight
Sunlight can actually yellow wood furniture overtime. Crazy right? Just make sure that you furniture is in some areas that get some shade and you will be good to go.
Clean Regularly
I know, kind of vague right? Everyone's schedules are different, so this will depend on how much time you can dedicate to cleaning. My suggestion would be to wipe down monthly to get rid of any dust that might collect on it and weekly to remove oils from fingerprints. My favorites are just plaid old windex, lysol wipes, or magic easer sponges.
Cheers!
